Lansdowne Animal Hospital

Dr. Bijan Iraei graduated from the DVM program at the University of Tehran, Iran in 1992. He had been working as a vet for 15 years before immigrating to Canada in 2005. In 2010 he achieved his “Certificate of Qualification” from the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). Since then, he has been working in different animal hospitals across Ottawa. Recently, he has become the owner of Lansdowne Animal Hospital as Dr. Zarkeshvari (the founder of the hospital) decided to retire.

While Dr. Iraei enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgeries, his personal interests are endocrine diseases, dentistry and soft tissue surgeries.

His favorite sport is soccer and he spends most of his spare time doing outdoor activities with his family and playing soccer with his daughters.

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Jessica Cady graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2011. Prior to obtaining her veterinary degree, she attended Bishop’s University in Québec. Jessica is originally from the Eastern Townships and she obtained a Biology degree as well as an Honours degree in Drama at Bishop’s University. She has always been passionate about the sciences as well as the arts. While at Bishop’s University, she acted in many plays and comedy sketches, some of which she also wrote and directed. Her claim to fame is her many impersonations, including Alvin the Chipmunk. She is happy to serve all of you in French, in English, and/or in Chipmunk!

Jessica is passionate about emergency medicine and surgery, and she has been an emergency veterinarian in Ottawa for over 3 years. Prior to that, she was working as a veterinarian in Kingston. Jessica met Dr. Iraei back in 2012, and they had the opportunity to work as emergency veterinarians together. Jessica is thrilled to now be joining Dr. Iraei and the Lansdowne team, and she thanks you all for entrusting your pets in her care. Jessica looks forward to building a relationship with all of you, and she will always do her very best for you and your pets.

Jessica and her husband Chad live in Orleans with their two dogs, Albie the Golden Retriever and Josh the Beagle, as well as their two cats, Boris and Pinot. Jessica and Chad enjoy spending time with eachother, their families, camping, as well as walking the dogs in new and exciting places

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Reza graduated from the DVM program at the University of Tehran, Iran in 1990.
After graduation, he worked in agricultural Ministry in Iran for 8 years. Then, he immigrated to Canada with his family. He registered in Animal and Poultry Department in Guelph University for his MSc program and he graduated this program in 2004.
His participated in some research projects on dynamic nutritional models and animal genome mapping. He passed his veterinary licensing exams in 2007 and started working as a vet in Port Elgin, Lindsay, and Allison Ontario.
His favorite sport activity is jogging and biking and he spends most of his spare time doing outdoor activities with his family.

Having been raised in what some might call a zoo, she does not recall a time in her childhood where there were less than three animals in the house at a time. Laura is originally from Newfoundland and has been living in Ottawa since 2004. She has always loved animals and has had many pets growing up, including: dogs, cats, budgies, a mouse, and snakes. She started her studies in Biology at Memorial University of Newfoundland and completed her Bachelor of Science in Ecology at Concordia University in Montreal. She had a very interesting first job as a research assistant studying Puffins on an island off the coast of Newfoundland, and her start in veterinary reception was in 2006. Laura has been a receptionist at Lansdowne Animal Hospital since 2017 and became Hospital Administrator in 2022.
