ECG (Electrocardiogram)

Monitoring Your Pet's Heart Health

An electrocardiogram, commonly known as an ECG, is a non-invasive diagnostic test that records the electrical activity of your pet's heart. This test helps us identify abnormalities in heart rhythm, detect underlying cardiac conditions, and monitor heart function before certain procedures or treatments.

An ECG may be recommended if your pet has a heart murmur, irregular heartbeat, episodes of weakness or fainting, breathing difficulties, or as part of a pre-anesthetic evaluation for pets with known or suspected heart disease. The test is painless, quick, and does not require surgery. By understanding exactly how your pet's heart is functioning, our veterinarians can make informed decisions about medications, anesthesia protocols, and treatment plans. Early detection of heart abnormalities often allows us to begin treatment sooner, improving both quality of life and long-term health outcomes.
