Deworming and Parasites

Deworming and Parasite Control

Kittens are normally pre-cautionary dewormed by the vet, even if they are not shown signs of being infected. Kittens are so small that they cannot afford to be infected or they will lose nutrients that their growing bodies require, thus being more vulnerable to becoming ill easier and faster than an adult cat.

Therefore, kittens are dewormed several times. They will normally be dewormed during each visit for their kitten vaccine. The frequency of deworming in adult cats depends on whether they go outside, they hunt, etc. Ask your veterinarian for more details.
